Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh has made the recommendations to the government about the digital world evolution.

After meeting, N.Chandra Babu Naidu stated “We are looking at low-hanging fruits to facilitate digital payments initially, and eventually we need to develop enough infrastructure to conduct digital transactions”.

Interoperability among banks is one of the most pressing issues confronting the government in its efforts to promote digital payments. Account holders will be able to use their banks’ Unified Payment Interface to make and receive cashless payments from subscribers of other banks’ UPI. Following the massive demonetisation drive that began, the government has identified five modes of digital transactions. UPI, e-wallets, cards, and point-of-sale, Aadhaar-enabled payment system, and Unstructured Supplementary Service Data are among them.

Amitabh Kant, CEO of NITI Aayog, stated that a more user-friendly and simpler version of Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD), which is used on feature phones to make cashless payments, which were rolled out after 15 days.

Kant stated that, “NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India) has already started working to make USSD (*99#) more simple, convenient, and robust, as well as to integrate it with UPI. So, soon after 15-20 days of that work, they have a completely new version of USSD with UPI, with many powerful and user-friendly features”

At the time of this suggestion, the country had approximately 400 million feature mobile handset users. The government hoped that the move would significantly increase digital transactions, particularly in rural areas where smartphone and internet penetration is low. Chandrababu Naidu has suggested banks to use technology to provide high-quality products and services to the public. While speaking at Karur Vysya Bank’s 101st founders’ day celebration in Visakhapatanam on Saturday, he emphasised the power of technology in the banking industry.

With the help of TDP News people came to know that, the bank adopted Bandarupalli, a remote village with no banking facilities, and established a digital branch there. In the village, cashless transactions are available, and all banking transactions are completed digitally.

“Identifying the banking needs of the local community in Karur (Tamil Nadu) and thus earning the trust of the people had put the Karur Vysya Bank (KVB) on a firm footing,” Chandrababu Naidu said, praising the bank’s visionary leadership”. It had grown from a small town to become one of the country’s major banks.

He also praised the bank for donating Rs 100 crore from its CSR funds to the Visakhapatnam district and encouraged other banks to follow KVB’s lead.

“The bank has provided complimentary wi-fi service in Bandarupalli village, making sure online payments and digital banking, as well as the availability of micro ATMs at business areas in the village,” said P.R. Seshadri, MD and CEO of KVB.
